What do you get when you cross an English Teacher with idle time? A cook? Nope, but that seems to be the case with me. Untrained in the department of food, my kitchen skills are a bit like newspaper clippings: borrowed snapshots of vintage cooking from my mother and grandmothers’ kitchens, strewn about here and there with Western styles seen on T.V. And then there are ideas of my own that seem to never truly be mine – googling them proves that other people had them first. I post them nonetheless.
